The goal of this investigation is to get students to explore the question: How would polar air change if most of the polar ice disappeared or visa versa?


You set the tone here. The idea is not to frighten them, but to turn their imaginations lose, have fun and come up with creative stories, drawings or books. They could be funny, scary (in a fun way) or serious (in a scientific way) if you chose. You know your students, you set the tone. Our hope is that you have fun with this and don't get too serious at the K-4 grade level.


This investigation allows students to use their imaginations to explore the possibilities of the question:

How will changes in the amount of polar ice change polar land, air and living things and how are changes in polar ice are connected to changes in polar air?
